Custom-built Towed-Array Oceanographic Winch with 12.5 HP IP65 induction motor with dual voltage (240vac or 460/480vac) drive system with automatic configuration. The drum holds 4,100 ft (1,250m) of 1.75 in. (44.5mm) of array cable and is controlled by a wireless portable joystick system.

Custom-built Oceanographic winch with 200HP IP65 induction motor with independent level wind drive capable of pulling 27,500 line tension (12,500kg) at 147 ft/min (45m/min). Closed-loop motor control with dynamic braking provides ultra-slow payload control down to a few feet per minute. The drum holds 24,600 ft (7,500 m) of 0.680 in. (17.2mm) electromechanical, double-armor cable. Level wind incorporates load and magnet sensors for direct line tension and scope read-outs on a daylight-bright display. Hand-held pendant control allows adjustment of the level wind carriage position.

It is also used for geophysical applications such as sediment sampling and coring, in addition to hydrographic work including CTD and sound velocity profiling, water sampling, and instrument deployments. The Series 10031-M incorporates the latest in high-performance motor technology with programmable torque control, infinitely-variable speed control, fail-safe brake, grooved drum, level wind, and integrated cable monitoring systems. High-quality construction using marine-rated materials ensures long-term reliability on deck in the marine environment.

Series 9933Custom-built Heavy-Duty Deepwater Oceanography Winch

The Series 9933 Heavy-Duty Deepwater Oceanography Winch is a capable, heavy-duty oceanographic winch for deep tow and sampling applications. The Series 9933 is designed for handling long multi-conductor or coax cable, fiber-optic cable, or wire rope for open-ocean oceanographic work. The Series 9933 is available with an all-electric drive, hydraulic, or electro-hydraulic configuration in a range from 50 hp to 150 hp. Hydraulic configurations offer a direct connection to ship hydraulics, or it may be supplied with an integrated or independent HPU. Includes grooved drum and level wind systems to assure perfect repetitive spooling and maximum protection of long cables under demanding conditions. Cable monitoring, display, control options, auto-rendering, and motion-compensation are available.
