InterOcean systems introduces the Model 72480 ROV/ROTV Heavy Duty Winch. This all-aluminum workhorse winch is entirely self-contained and lightweight, weighing only 5,500 pounds, which saves money on costly MOB and DEMOB transports. Despite its compact and lightweight measurements, the 72480 is a solid performer. Power is supplied by a 75 hp, 460 VAC 50/60 Hz electric motor. The hydraulic motor is a high torque, low speed system mounted directly onto the drum that effectively eliminates the need for a separate gearbox.

With a drum capacity of 4,000 meters of 0.68 inch diameter electro-magnetic cable, the unit performs line pulls in excess of 10,000 pounds (bare drum) and demonstrates line speeds of 200 feet per minute. The 72480's unique motor features an integral failsafe braking system that engages whenever power is turned off or with loss of hydraulic pressure.

All controls and displays are self-contained on a panel mounted to the winch with remote control options available. They include start and stop pump motor, measured pay-in/pay-out (with variable speed), speed, and analog inputs for hard-wiring a remote (0-5 volt logic). Drum brackets are also provided to mount the fiber optic/electric slip rings. Overall winch dimensions measure 85 inches wide by 62 inches high by 114 inches long, including the standard 36 inch diameter drum, oil reservoir, and heat exchanger, which are mounted directly on the winch frame.
