InterOcean Systems Delivers 8 Integrated Coastal Monitoring Buoy Systems to NAVSEA.

InterOcean Systems was contracted by Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) to provide a network of 8 Coastal Monitoring Buoys for deployment in the Mediterranean Sea The integrated network consists of eight each 2.5 meter diameter discus buoys, with on-board power supply, processing, and telemetry to a corresponding shore station.  Each buoy incorporates a high-strength mooring system providing electrical connection to subsurface (bottom-mounted) sensors.  Data acquisition and transfer is continuous allowing real-time information display and system control.  S4ADWi oceanographic instruments, wave/tide gauges, CTD, and shipboard hydrographic sampling system with winch and 1,000m cable were also supplied.  Factory acceptance test and delivery was completed at end 2007 and system commissioning is currently in process.
