Due to increased demand and expansion of our successful business, InterOcean has several exceptional opportunities available for a qualified Technical Support Professional.

For over 60 years InterOcean Systems, inc. has been a leader in the design and manufacture of high quality oceanographic equipment and systems.  Through this breadth of experience and capability, we are able to offer our customers a wide range of standard products as well as special engineered turn-key systems and application assistance. 

The primary responsibility of this position is to provide technical after sales support to the many worldwide users of InterOcean instruments via phone and email communication.  Ancillary duties will involve the occasional writing of technical application notes and the possibility of attending industry trade events.

Specific duties of this position and qualifications of the ideal candidate will include:

-    Advanced troubleshooting experience and strong analytical problem solving skills.

-    Troubleshoot complex system issues in a timely manner - using abstract thought, data analysis, problem solving methodology and other available tools - to achieve compliance to InterOcean specifications and customer requirements

-    Requires experience in digital and analog systems.

-    Ability to read complex drawings and understand circuit diagrams.

-    Ability to test and evaluate circuit boards.

-    Familiarity with serial communications.

-    Ability to use a variety of precision testing and measuring instruments.

-    Strong  verbal and written communication skills for corresponding with customers.

-    Effective interpersonal communication skills for working directly with customers.

-    Detailed organized documentation of project activities.

-    Ability to support engineering design, production, and commissioning of integrated multi-sensor systems.

-    Occasional travel both foreign and domestic.

-    PC literate (Microsoft Office and Windows 98, 2000, XP).

-    Will report directly to technical sales manager, but will work also with engineering and test departments.


Education/Experience Requirements:

-    Minimum four year university education preferred

-    Engineering degree a bonus.

-    Documented history of technical customer support experience.
