When precision fieldwork requires accuracy, stability and ruggedness similar to the larger CSTDs ,but portability and low cost come first, the answer is the Mini-CTD from InterOcean systems, inc. Highly valuable in oceanographic surveys, limnological studies, life science research, fisheries, water quality monitoring, offshore exploration, pollution control support and anywhere measurements of conductivity, temperature and depth (dissolved oxygen and pH optional) are needed. The Mini-CTD is shown here with the 514C Digital Display Unit. This portable, waterproof, battery-powered unit is ideal for these applications. However, any one of InterOcean's family of deck units may be connected to the Mini-CTD as well as a unit of customer design. With the 513E-A/D, an A/D converter is installed in the housing of the multiparameter probe and serial data is output for use with the 514PC-W Data Logging System via a four-conductor cable. The sensors on the Portable Mini-CTD are designed to permit profiling and are similar to the type used on our higher accuracy CTDs, with years of successful performance behind them. Calibration stability, small size and weight make the 513E Mini-CTD the ideal choice for your Oceanographic needs. |

Application Examples |
Water Quality Monitoring
The 513E is compact and light enough to be hand-deployed from the small boats typically used in water quality monitoring applications. Its calibration stability provides correlation confidence from one sampling period to the next without the requirement for constant recalibration. It's priced to fit in the most constrained budgets. Academic Research The 513E's low cost allows more units to be available for student hand-on training. It is also perfect for many coastal studies where the high accuracy of our 513D is not required. Its portability prevents tying up an expensive research vessel for many coastal studies. The 513E provides an excellent opportunity for the investigator to quickly board a vessel to assess fishing success versus salinity, temperature and dissolved oxygen. It's portable, self-contained nature makes no logistical demands on the ship and eases the investigators ability to integrate with the fishing activity. |
